Springtime in Connecticut will be here soon, bringing with it colorful gardens, lush green grasses, blossoming trees, and great spring festivities. Sometime between April and May cherry blossoms, tulips, daffodils, and dogwoods will bloom. Soon those heavy coats, boots and gloves can be put away to make room for light jacket, cotton sweaters, t-shirts, and sneakers to prepare you for when warmer temperatures and sunny days are here. Time to get those outdoor activities scheduled and unpack the sunscreen. In addition to getting your self ready for Spring there are things you can do to prepare you home for spring. Here are some suggestions for getting your home ready for the spring season.
Placement of Home Décor

Work on the arrangement of your couches, sofas, coffee tables, and other pieces of furniture throughout your home. Place some fresh flowers in a vase on the center table or in a corner in your house to add some color.. This can offer it a new look without requiring the purchase of new furnishings.
Allow light to enter by cleaning all of the windows

When it comes to cleaning our homes, it's important to remember the windows. At a quick glance, they may seem clean enough but if you look a little closer, you may see spots, nose prints, or cute little paw prints if you have a pet.
Clean windows can also change the look of a room so grab some gloves, get some glass cleaner, and some paper towels and clean the windows! And, because it's spring it's not a bad idea to open up those windows and allow some fresh air in.
Get to work on your garden

If you enjoy gardening, you undoubtedly are looking forward to spring's arrival as well as the return of blooming flowers and lush greenery all of which makes your home look great!
Change to lighter-colored bedding

Dark colors work in the winter. Dark hues, after all, keep you warm. But when Winter is gone so should the dark sheets, heavy duvets and blankets. Begin the new season with new, lighter-colored bedding. Instead of wool or other dense textiles, try pillows with light colors and floral prints.
Clean the House, the Driveway, and the Deck

When the weather starts to get warmer many of have the urge to do Spring Cleaning! We tend to spend most of our time inside during the Winter and we accumulate a lot of stuff we don't need in our homes.
Set aside a day or even a weekend to clean your house. Gather what you need, perhaps rent a heavy-duty vacuum cleaner, large garbage bags, or even a dumpster! Also, don't forget to spruce up the driveway and deck while you're at it. What a great feeling to have a clean house - inside and out!
All of the seasons have something to offer but hard to argue that Spring, with the fresh air, blooming flowers, comfortable temps and so much more certainly is welcomed with open arms.
